Body Building Tips
Follow these body building tips for gaining muscles:
Stick to basic compound exercises like bench presses, barbell rows, squats etc. Start with a light exercise and gradually move towards vigorous workouts.
Keep on increasing the weights used during the exercises. Increase the number of times and the intensity of the workouts regularly. If you keep on doing the same exercises in the same manner, then after some time your muscles will get adapted to it and not grow anymore.
Make sure you last rep is really your last rep. i.e. that 10th repetition is the last you can manage. If you do less than this, you will build some strength but not muscle mass and if you do greater than this, then your endurance level will increase and not the muscle mass. Too many times I have seen people … 8, 9, 10 STOP. If pushed they could probably of done 20 reps. That’s not the way to build muscle.
Take sufficient rest after your workouts. Your muscles grow when you are resting so give them enough time to recover and rebuild. Give a break of at least 4-5 days before training a body part again.
Do not try to use heavy weights that are too much for you in an effort to gain muscles fast. Take care not to overdo anything. It will harm you more rather than benefit you. Using strict form.
Eat frequently. Take 5 – 6 meals per day. Increase the intake of protein by eating more lean meat, eggs, and milk etc. Moreover take some supplements like whey protein – but only once you have sorted the rest of your diet!
Take something nutritious preferably a carbohydrate drink right after you finish your exercise routine. This replenishes your carbohydrate store used during training. Follow this with a protein meal around an hour later. Also eat something an hour before your workouts, it will provide you body the energy you require.
When you are beginning, work on your whole body and don’t worry about isolation exercises at first. i.e. don’t follow advice teaching you how to build a biceps peak – this is for advanced body builders that already have plenty of mass.
Keep on changing your workout routines regularly. If you continue doing the same routine, your muscles will get adapted to it and will not grow. So to keep them growing, change your workouts periodically. Take note and work out what works for you! Remember we are all different.
Set realistic and achievable goals to keep yourself motivated. You will feel satisfaction whenever you reach a goal.
Protect yourself from any injuries. If you get injured or tear a muscle, then you might not be able to workout for sometime. Always remember to warm up before starting your workout routine.
Whatever you do, be positive. If at first things don’t seem to be working out, don’t lose hope. Find some other workouts and diets which suit you and help you in building muscles. Like I said above – EXPERIMENT!
